At Nyche Coffee, every cup carries a legacy — one that traces its roots to the vibrant hills of Western Uganda, where I was raised among Robusta coffee farms. In the 1990s, my late father worked as a smallholder farmer, while my mother and the neighboring women took on the essential roles of harvesting and drying the beans. My father truly came alive during the selling season, trading “kibooko” to support our family and fund our education.
After my parents passed away in 2000, coffee gradually faded from our lives. But years later, destiny led me eastward — where I married into a family whose livelihood centered around Arabica coffee. My husband, an agriculturalist deeply involved in the coffee trade, and I went on to plant a 5-acre Arabica farm on the slopes of Mount Elgon. That experience reignited my love for coffee.
It was then that I truly grasped coffee’s value — not just as a crop, but as a powerful journey from soil to sip. This rekindled passion led to the birth of Nyche Coffee five years ago, with a clear mission: to source, roast, and package high-quality Ugandan coffee while championing youth and women in agriculture and value addition.
Today, Nyche Coffee is more than a brand — it’s a movement. We've established a Robusta demonstration farm in Mukono, offering tours and hands-on training to inspire young people and promote sustainable farming practices. We want agriculture to be seen as an opportunity, not a last resort.
We are proud to be a youth-led initiative challenging outdated perceptions — proving that the next generation is not only interested in farming, but capable of leading it with purpose.
When you choose Nyche Coffee, you’re not just enjoying a quality cup — you’re supporting a vibrant community of women, men, and youth from both Western and Eastern Uganda. You're part of a story rooted in tradition and brewed for change.
